Bloom and Grow. As the host church, we are looking for adult volunteers to help with food preparation, serving, and clean up throughout the weekend of the Happening, March 29-31. Kitchen staff with Madison UMC is covering the meal planning and shopping for the weekend. We'd love to involve church members and parents of past Happeners, no matter what church you attend. And please be aware that Madison Central prom is Saturday night; if you do not have a student attending prom and can cover a meal during "prom hours," please sign up for those first. If you'd like to help, but cannot be onsite, donations are welcome to help cover the cost of all meals. And we also added four sign up slots to bake 2 dozen homemade cookies for the party Saturday night -- drop off at MUMC anytime before 4:00pm.
Here is an idea of the needs:
Friday evening meal (Happener Staff)- covered
Saturday breakfast (all Happeners) - covered
Saturday lunch (all Happeners) - 10:30am-1:30pm (prepare Taco Bar, serve, clean up)*
Saturday dinner (all Happeners) - 4:30pm-7:30pm (prepare pulled pork dinner, serve, clean up)*
Sunday breakfast (all Happeners) - 8:00am-9:30am (breakfast of cereal and pastries, set up, serve, clean up)
Sunday lunch (all Happeners) - 11:30am-1:00pm (pizza, set up, serve, clean up)
Sunday closing reception (all Happeners and family) - 4:00pm-5:30pm (set up, clean up)
Floater (Saturday and Sunday afternoons) - pick up last-minute items as needed

If you would like to donate to help cover the cost of meals, please remit a check payable to Madison UMC, mark "Happening" in the memo line. You can give the check to me, mail it to me (106 Greenridge Dr., Madison 39110), or drop off at church. If you drop off, please put in an envelope marked HAPPENING, so your contribution will make it to our collection.
