Brook Park School
With this year's pandemic still rearing it's ugly head, the decision has been made to hold the book fair in a virutal environment beginning Monday, February 8th with sales concluding on Sunday, February 21st. We are trying to have the fair be as interactive as possible for the students, so the Book Fair Committee has come up with the following activities where we could use some volunteers.
Book Fair Opening Night on Tuesday, February 9th at 5 pm:
Read with a parent in English!
Al Capone Does My Shirts - Grades 5-8
My Very Favorite Book in the Whole Wide World - Grades K-3
Read with a parent in Spanish! The Dodo: Little But Fierce
Wednesday, February 10th at 5 pm:
Virtual Scavenger Hunt begins! There will be a prize for the top 3 winners after all entries are turned in by Friday, February 19th. No volunteers are needed for this activity.
Saturday, February 13th at 10 am:
Nailed It! Cupcake Challenge:
- Student will need the following items to participate: cake mix, eggs, oil, frosting, and whatever else is needed to recreate the desired cupcake.
- Showcase a picture of the cupcake to be recreated in bakery form to all who signed up. Students have 3 hours to complete their masterpiece and send back a picture.
- Top 3 winners will be selected by a Judge's panel of 3 volunteers.
Tuesday, February 16th at 5 pm:
Read with a parent in English!
Pixie Tricks: The Greedy Gremlin - Grades 1-3
The Couch Potato - Grades K-3
Read with a parent in Spanish! Pig the Fibber
Thursday, February 18th at 5 pm:
Virtual Animal Farm Visit and read with the animals! Our tour guide will join us in a Zoom meeting link, do a quick introduction of the farm, and introduce the animals throughout the tour (total time approx 10 min). Students can ask questions or just hang out. The parent volunteer will then read Click, Clack, Quack to School after the tour is complete.
