303 ArtWay Pop-Up Traffic Calming Demonstration

UPDATE: This event has been rescheduled for August 3!

Join us in Northeast Park Hill for a one-day traffic calming demonstration on Saturday, August 3! The 303 ArtWay, Radian, and WalkDenver will be hosting a Vision Zero “pop-up" traffic calming demonstration event at 35th Ave & Holly Street to encourage drivers to slow down, improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, and provide an opportunity to learn more about the 303 ArtWay Heritage Trail project. Sign up to volunteer below!

WHAT IS A POP-UP DEMONSTRATION?

A pop-up traffic calming demonstration uses low-cost materials like colorfully painted tires and spotted beach balls to temporarily display a safer street. Pop-ups can demonstrate elements such as crosswalks, curb extensions, landscaping, and artwork to show how easy it is to make changes to the street that would make the neighborhood safer and more inviting for people to walk, bike, and take transit.

WHAT IS THE 303 ARTWAY?

The 303 ArtWay is a proposed art-themed urban trail connecting paved walkways and bike paths through the Northeast Park Hill neighborhood with a larger vision to expand through Denver. The trail will highlight the visionaries and artists, leaders and community activists who have brought so much life to this unique and diverse neighborhood.

WHAT IS VISION ZERO?

The Denver Vision Zero Action Plan is a five-year plan to set the city on a clear path to achieve zero traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030. WalkDenver, the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment and Denver Public Works are partnering on the Vision Zero Community Program, an exciting initiative that is giving teams of community members an opportunity to design a project to increase awareness of Vision Zero and promote safer streets in their neighborhoods.
