Calling ALL Dads! Will you help us this year and Stand Up for Safety? With school safety on everyone’s mind these days, we are asking PCK dads, in particular, to join us onsite one day per year…per dad…during the school week to provide an added layer of protection while students are in school. The goals of this initiative are simple:
1.) More eyes and ears to enhance school security and help reduce bullying types of behavior
2.) Provide positive male role models for our students as dads demonstrate by their presence that parent involvement in education is important
Dads who Stand Up for Safety may be asked to spend their time onsite reading to students, patrolling the school perimeter, entrances and hallways, assisting with carpool and recess, having lunch in the lunchroom with our students, and helping us manage larger school/class events. Just the presence of more dads onsite adds to our overall sense of safety and security. All dads who elect to Stand Up for Safety will be asked to watch a short school safety and procedures (SRP) video prior to volunteering, and all dads who participate must be registered as a PCK volunteer in Raptor.
