Saint Mary of Sorrows - Rosary Leaders
Dear Volunteers -
Father Barkett has asked that the Rosary be said 20 minutes prior to each weekend Mass beginning. Thanks to the Knights of Columbus, and all who have volunteered to make this happen.
The Rosary Leader will take their spot at the ambo (lectern) NO LATER than 20 minutes prior to Mass. They will lead the congregation that is present in the Rosary. We will say the simple version without any additional scriptural reference. For example: The Apostles Creed, The Our Father, Three Hail Mary's and a Glory Be. Then you go right into the five decades. Most Sunday's we will be saying the Glorious Mysteries. During Advent it will be the Joyful Mysteries and During Lent the Sorrowful Mysteries.
YOU MUST BEGIN 20 MINUTES PRIOR AND END BEFORE MASS BEGINS. If for some reason, you go long, you will STOP saying the rosary, no matter where you are, 5 minutes prior to the start of Mass. If this happens, please say, "Please finish praying the Rosary privately."
The key to making this a success is to say the Rosary quickly but with reverence. There will be a hard start and stop time for this as to not interrupt the flow oif the Mass schedule. People will be coming into the sanctuary while you are saying the Rosary. Do not be distracted, just continue praying.
We are using this on-line sign-up to allow as many volunteers as possible to participate in this new prayer ministry.
Legion of Mary - please have a basket of rosaries on the table at the entry to the main sanctuary. This way people can feel free to participate even if they don't arrive with a rosary in hand.
Thank you for your assistance in this. If you have ANY questions, please feel free to contact me at (703) 978-4141 ext 112, or email me at [email protected]
