Neighborhood Care Center

4.1 FEED Ministry

FEED Ministry is a serving opportunity through the Neighborhood Care Center where we prepare frozen meals to be used as an instrument for pastoral care and to meet others' physical needs. We meet in the Lower Level Kitchen at First Christian Church. At the beginning of the night we will circle up, pray together, exchange names, and then divide up various responsibilities in the kitchen. After all the meals are prepared we will close our time together in a circle once more, in which we charge each volunteer to think of one person in their corner of the world that would be blessed by a meal visit. We invite each volunteer to be a "minister of Jesus Christ" and make a special connection with this one person (or family). This service opportunity is considered a "landing ministry," meaning - you can "land" momentarily to serve and then go. You are not making a time commitment other than the month(s) you sign up to serve. We would love for anyone to join us for this night of service and get an inside glimpse to how ministry can be about "doing" and also "being."
