Summer Sunday School
We are asking parents whose children will be attending any Summer Sunday School days to sign up as a Preschool Leader or Assistant, or an Elementary Station Guide for at least one week (although you can sign up for more if you’d like).
Children in Moon, Faith, and Love or Grace who have not yet entered Kindergarten will combine together in a multi-age Sunday School group. The summer program is very relaxed with smaller weekly attendance, making it a great time to make new friends in this community of faith!
Children will explore Bible stories using the “Deep Blue” lessons, which provide easy-to-prepare lesson plans with activities the kids love that will help them love the Lord more.
Leader: Prepare the easy-to-use lesson provided by the church, gather supplies, confirm your assistants’ help, and share God’s love through the lesson with the children.
Assistants: Help the Leader with the lesson, as needed, and build relationships with the children, also sharing God’s love with them through care and connection.
We’ve designed a Sunday School format for our Elementary-aged group that allows for families to stay together, in self-directed centers. Families will read scripture, and then use materials provided to create a piece that reminds them of the scripture. Most stations will use Legos; some will have art materials too. Come build your relationship with God as you use your hands, imagination and God-given creativity.
Host Family: extend a warm welcome & hospitality to every family who walks into Grundy Hall!
Station Center Guides: helps children navigate through the various centers. Instructions and coaching are provided making this an easy and rewarding job on Sundays! They may also "adopt" children who do not have a parent participating in the building stations. Adults, Youth and older elementary children are encouraged to sign up to as station Center Guides.
Your presence and participating on Sunday morning is important and valued.
