Interfaith Action of Evanston is happy to announce that the GCFD has offered Evanston
an ADDITIONAL Producemobile distribution of USDA surplus produce. Distribution
will be on the 4th Tuesday of the Month (April 23, May 28 and June 25, 2019) at Fleetwood-Jordain Community Center 1655 Foster Ave.
There is a free parking lot north of the Family Focus building at 2010 Dewey. (The
Family Focus building is just west of Fleetwood-Jourdain). You can access the lot by
the one-way alley that runs north from Foster Street between Dewey and Darrow (along
the west side of Family Focus.) You can walk to Fleetwood-Jourdain along the sidewalk
that is on the east side of the parking lot or cut through the playground.
The Producemobile #2 distribution will be smaller than our regular one as we will be receiving 3-5 pallets of produce. Volunteers are needed each month to unload produce from trucks, sort and bag food items and then serve it to our guests.
Thanks for helping us get food to our hungry neighbors. We look forward seeing you there. For more information on Producemobile, or other services targeting the hungry and homeless in Evanston contact Interfaith Acrtion at (847-475-1150) or www.interfaithactionofevanston.org
