Tree of Life
Thank you for your willingness to serve during this time. Our purpose is very simple:
‘To reach out to the poor and needy in our community with the love of Jesus Christ.’
The Tree of Life Community Kitchen is commited to providing a free meal to our neighbors on a weekly basis. During this ongoing health crisis, feeding those in need is as important as ever but we also want to make sure we are protecting the health of our volunteers and those we are serving. Therefore, we are offering FREE TO-GO MEALS available curbside on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 pm, in place of our regular community dinner event.
Please bring 20 "To-Go" dinners packed individually. This could include:
1. A main item: a sandwich, burrito, wrap or hot dog
2. A side item: a piece of fruit and/or a bag of chips
3. Bottles of water
This can also include warm dinners such as soups or stews. If you need containers, we can provide those as well. Please contact Marilyn, her # is below.
We are asking for 3 groups/individuals to deliver 20 individual meals.
Alternatively, some groups have opted to purchase meals from local restaurants and deliver those to Tree of Life to be handed out – this is a great way to feed those in need and support local businesses.
Because of current social distancing protocals, ONE member of your group may stay to pass out the dinners at the front entrance of Crossroads Baptist Church (850 Edwards Ferry Rd NE). We would love to have the help and get to know you. If you would prefer not to stay, we are happy to pass the bags out. Please deliver them to the church between 5:15-5:30pm. Those who stay to hand out food would be done by 6:30 at the latest.
Thank you for your generosity and love for the Lord.
