Thank you for becoming a member of the Steve Ferguson Memorial Retriever Grounds, Inc. You must be a member of SFMRG to signup for training areas or camping spots. You must be a member of SFMRG to handle a retriever on these grounds. Amateur, VIP and Professional memberships extend to members of a household at least 18 years old. The current membership period extends from October 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020.

Any person handling and or training a retriever on the grounds must be a member and pay the listed fees below. Throwers, bird boys and non-handling/training guests must sign a Hold Harmless Agreement, however, they are exempt from the handling/training fees. Completing a Hold Harmless Agreement may be accomplished online under the Guest tab.
Amateur Basic Membership - $125
SFMRG will use the definition of an Amateur as specified in the AKC Standing Recommendations of the Retriever Advisory Board: For the purposes of eligibility of a person to compete in an Amateur All-Age Stake the time period applicable shall be one year preceding the trial in question.
The non-refundable $125.00 membership application fee is valid through December 31, 2020. This fee allows you to signup for a training area an unlimited number of times per month, but requires a $25 per day use fee for each day signed up for. Signup holders may also access open Areas for training the same day as their signup. An unlimited number of personal dogs may be handled.
Amateur VIP Membership - $500
The non-refundable $500.00 membership application fee is valid through December 31, 2020. This fee allows amateur trainers only to signup for a training area an unlimited number of times per month. Signup holders may also access open Areas for training the same day as their signup. This fee includes the application fee, day use fees and handling an unlimited number of personal dogs.
Professional Trainer Membership - $125
The non-refundable $125.00 membership application fee is valid through December 31, 2020. This fee allows you to signup for a training area for a maximum of 5 days per month, but requires a $25 per day use fee for each day signed up for. An unlimited number of client or personal dogs may be handled.
Clients training with their professional trainer AND handling dogs must be members of SFRMG. The daily usage fee is waived as it is covered by the Professional Trainer Membership Daily Usage Fee.
Professionals are defined as: Anyone who does NOT meet the eligibility requirements to compete as an Amateur as defined by the AKC. See above.
All Clubs holding events (training day, hunt test, field trial and/or a seminar) must complete an Event Application, pay the appropriate event fee, provide a copy of the club's approved VDGIF "bird permit" and provide an Insurance Certificate with a $2 million per occurrence liability coverage. Additional named insureds will be required. The certificate must be emailed or mailed and received by SFMRG before applying for training areas for any event.

Hold Harmless Agreement
Everyone will be required during the membership signup process to affirm that you have read and agree with the terms and conditions in the Hold Harmless Agreement. You must agree to the terms of the Hold Harmless Agreement BEFORE you are allowed to train on the grounds. Your affirmation will be captured during the signup process and will be kept on file. This Agreement will be valid until December 31, 2020 and must be renewed each successive year.

Once your documents and payment have been received, and your application reviewed, access to the signup site will be enabled.
