Maker Monday is a hands on program for kids ages 10-12 that encourages STEAM based thinking across a wide array of activities. With each project, kids are given a challenge based in one of the STEAM disciplines and then, depending on the challenge, they are placed in collaborative groups or set to their independent task. This program fosters teamwork between the participants as well as with the teen volunteers that assist with the program. Many of the challenges are open-ended with a minimum example for them to use as a guide, and they are encouraged to follow the design-test-redesign process throughout.
Photographs of this program make be taken for library promotion purposes. If you would prefer not to have your child's photograph taken, please indicate with "No Photo" in the comments.
