Shelter Pals

Shelter Pals Training Event- If You Give A Mouse A Cookie

Do you love animals? Join the Joplin Humane Society’s Shelter Pals and spend quality time reading to adoptable pets!

Shelter Pals is a reading program that provides an opportunity for children, ages 6-15, to read to dogs/cats who are waiting to be adopted.

The program at the Joplin Humane Society will help children improve their reading skills while helping shelter animals.  Shelter Pal Readers and a parent/guardian must attend a special training event.  A $5 donation per child is greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of program supplies.

This training event will begin at 5:30 PM and we ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to check-in. Training is held at the Joplin Humane Society in the Education Room located at 140 E. Emperor Lane, Joplin, MO.  Space is limited so RSVP today.
