You are receiving this email specifically because you have served in various Worship roles in the past. As we continue with in-person worship at St Barnabas we are planning on a single service to be held at 9:30. Some of the roles may change on the Sundays where we will worship outside. It will continue to be available on Facebook via live-streaming.
We know that things have changed and everyone is affected differently by Covid-19 so are asking if you are willing/able to assist in any of the following roles. With the exception of the Altar Guild and Counters you should plan on being at the church no later than 9:15. Altar Guild will still be done on Saturdays and the Counting will take place after the service
Greeter - Health questions will be posted on the sign-up page and at the greeter station. Greeter will ask the worshipper is anyone in their family has exhibited any of those symptoms. Direct worshippers to the hand sanitizer and the church supplied masks if necessary, and bulletins.
Ushers – Direct worshippers into the sanctuary through the center aisle doors. Direct worshippers exiting the worship service from the east and west exit doors.
Sound Board – More information to follow
Assisting Minister/Reader – Assisting Ministers will not robe. They will process into the sanctuary 6 feet in front of the Pastor, light the altar candles, read Prayer of the Day, read the Lessons, share reading the Prayers of the Church, and assist the pastor as needed. They will extinguish the candles and depart the sanctuary 6 feet ahead of the Pastor. Masks may be worn except when speaking. The wireless microphones must be sanitized after each use and stored at the sound board. There is no need for the Assisting Minister to enter any other areas of the building.
Altar Guild – Prepare altar communion elements for Pastoral use. The communion elements should be placed on the altar. Worshippers will collect their communion supplies as they exit the sanctuary and consume them as they are exiting the church. The cups should be spaced in the tray so they are not accidentally touched when people are collecting their cup. Place offering trays outside the east and west doors exiting the sanctuary. A garbage can needs to be placed just outside the entry/exit doors.
The doors into the preschool area must not be used. Pastor will ensure that these are locked during worship.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!
