2020 Key City Classic

Greetings all Key City Classic Volunteers!

Below you will find important information regarding your responsibilities on Friday and Saturday. Please read thoroughly so you are fully prepared for Key City Classic 2020! 

There may be times when your shift will be very slow, or super busy. You may be asked to temporarily cover a position you didn’t sign up for. Please be patient and flexible as the day unfolds. No matter what you are doing, you are greatly appreciated! We would love to have feedback after the event. Please drop a note to your committee chair about how your shift/position worked out. It will help for future planning!

Friday set up:  3:00 pm:  Committee Chairs will start campus-wide set-up.  If you have any questions or would like to assist with set-up, please contact your committee chair or one of the Steering Committee members (contact info below).  Show Choir students will also be setting up throughout campus during the afternoon and early evening.
 
Saturday Information:
 
Parking:   All volunteers should park at the Dubuque Community School District Forum on Chaney Road. There will be shuttle service beginning at 7am Saturday morning.  Drop-off will be at the volunteer entrance at Mazzuchelli.  Please allow extra time for this parking process when arriving for your shift. You may also be dropped off in the Mazzuchelli circle from any vehicle. Shuttle service will be provided back to vehicles at the Forum until 7pm.  However, if you need a ride after that time, please find a Steering Committee member, and one can be provided. You may also park your vehicle closer to Wahlert or in the back of the Wahlert parking lot after the daytime awards, when large numbers of spectators will be leaving. 


Volunteer Check-In:  Volunteers will enter the specialist hallway in Mazzuchelli.  Our Volunteer Coordination Team will check in each volunteer and hand out nametag lanyards and t-shirts (if you do not already have one). All volunteers are asked to wear the Key City Classic Host t-shirt while working. If you are not sure where your volunteer area is located, we have people ready to help you. Volunteers may put their coats and non-valuable items in a designated classroom near the check-in area. If you would like to watch some of the performances before your shift starts, please check in first as your lanyard is your “ticket’ into the gymnasium. 
Happy and Helpful Volunteers:  Volunteers are asked to be very warm and welcoming to our guests. If guests have questions and/or concerns, please assist them as best as possible.  If you are unable to answer their questions, please find someone to help.  Avoid saying “I don’t know” or “It’s not my job”.  Please do not hesitate to ask your Committee Chair if you have any questions, or you may refer guests to them.
