Generic Ministry Van Volunteers

Volunteers for Generic Ministry van

This sign up sheet is for volunteers to ride the Generic Ministry van into Boston on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings.

Please read new guidelines before signing up.

After pausing due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are finally fully re-starting our operations! Each week on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, we need a van driver and another person to accompany the driver. The two people work as a team distributing the food, toiletries, clothing, blankets and water to the needy of downtown Boston. We leave Needham at 7pm and normally return around 9.30pm. On Tuesdays we head to a single spot on the Common, Wednesdays we drive around the city.

***All van volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19***

***All van volunteers must have completed a waiver https://www.genericministry.org/get-involved***

While masks are not required we STRONGLY RECOMMEND the use of them and ask that you wear one if your fellow volunteer asks. Hand sanitizer will be supplied and we encourage volunteers to sanitize after every stop. A suggested route will be given to the volunteers as we aim to discourage large gatherings or groups at Copley Square and the Boston Common. Our goal is to find individuals or couples together as we drive throughout the city.

***If you are a new volunteer that is interested in riding the van then please sign up and email [email protected] BEFORE signing up to ensure you are placed with an experienced driver.***

*** All drivers of the van must have ridden the van at least twice and also be trained by an experienced driver before being able to drive the van themselves. Please email [email protected] BEFORE signing up ***

If you believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms within the 72 hours prior to your volunteer slot then please immediately call Emma Navales at 617-888-0566 so we may work to find a replacement volunteer.
