St. Theresa Catholic Parish
Our 2nd Light of the World retreat is coming March 9-10! We have a lot of support still from the national team but more parishioners are needed to build up this amazing retreat! There are a lot of ways to help with small and large time commitments: everything helps!
Pulpit Talks: We are asking parishioners who attended the 1st retreat in January to invite fellow parishioners to the next retreat. The script is largely written already and I'll coach you through the rest! Pulpit talks will be Feb. 16-17, and yes, you can sign up for more than one Mass.
Shepherds/Small Group Leaders can be retreat participants who have some small group leadership experience and desire to serve in this capacity during the weekend.
Adoration: We are hoping to have adoration going on all day Saturday and Sunday of the retreat to provide intercessory prayer for our retreatants. Anyone can help with this! You do not need to have attended a past retreat to pray for your fellow parishioners!
The Hospitality Coordinator oversees all meals and snacks prepared for the retreat weekend. They should work with the Retreat Coordinator to involve past retreatants to help in this ministry. It’s important to keep all snacks and meals simple. They should provide adequate nourishment for the retreatants, but should not become a burden or focus of the retreat weekend. We also need Hospitality Volunteers to take shifts for particular meals.
The role of the Service Coordinator is to oversee the setup of the main conference room, transforming it to a peaceful retreat environment. During the retreat, this will involve staying ahead of the retreat, anticipating what comes next and being prepared. The Service Coordinator should support the Main Evangelizer, Hospitality Coordinator, and Chapel Coordinator as needed.
The role of the Chapel Coordinator is to set up the peaceful and prayerful environment for the retreatants. The Chapel Coordinator should coordinate with the Service Coordinator to make sure there are smooth transitions from the main conference room to the chapel and that all the retreatants’ spiritual needs are being met.
