MVE will be celebrating Mrs. Gibbs (MVE Teacher of the Year), Mrs. Benoit (MVE Classified Employee of the Year) and Mrs. Armstrong (Cobb County Art Teacher of the Year) at this year's East Cobber Parade on September 14th! We would love to have a group of MVE students and families walk in the parade alongside our teachers and PTA members. This is not a drop off activity. Each student walking will need a parent guardian to walk with them. Please wear your spirit wear to show your MVE pride.
** Please arrive at Mount Bethel Elementary School by 9:30 AM. We will be in Row J Space 6. We will email out a map a couple days prior to the parade.
Below are details provided by the parade please let us know if you have any questions.

The 24th Annual EAST COBBER Parade & Festival will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 10am, RAIN or SHINE! Please review the attached map of the parade staging area to locate/identify your assigned spot.
The EAST COBBER Parade will be staged at Mount Bethel Elementary School parking lot (1210 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, 30068). Beginning at 10am, parade participants will march south on Johnson Ferry Road, and then, after about one mile, turn onto Olde Towne Parkway. The EAST COBBER Festival will be held at: Johnson Ferry Baptist Church’s south parking lot, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta/East Cobb from 11am to 3pm.
To help us produce a successful parade and for the safety and enjoyment of all parade participants, it is vital that you abide by the following guidelines:
> Arrive at your group’s scheduled time. We have staggered the check-in times to efficiently organize the large number of participants (1,500+) in a limited amount of space. At the very least, get your vehicles and floats in place by your assigned time so participants can walk safely in the staging area.
> Cars NOT part of the parade will not be allowed to drive into the school’s parking lot. The Cobb County police block off the Princeton Lakes road leading to the school that morning--ONLY CARS IN THE PARADE will be allowed past that checkpoint. It is suggested that you park in a nearby shopping center parking lot and walk to the school’s parking lot/parade staging area.
> Anyone marching in the EAST COBBER Parade must be in the staging area by 9:30am. Johnson Ferry Road from Upper Roswell Road to Lower Roswell Road will be closed to all northbound and southbound traffic from approximately 9:30am until 11:45am, when the parade is over.
>The EAST COBBER Parade is known as the "Candy Parade" so feel free to bring lots of candy to throw to parade watchers. (We will provide candy to throw, but you are welcome to bring more)
