Torrey Pines Elementary School Foundation 2019-2020
Want to keep our kids safe? Then sign up to be a morning or afternoon safety ambassador! We are also looking for a parent to chair this safety program.
Our all important parent volunteers keep the flow of traffic moving smoothly by helping kids out of cars and grabbing backpacks and lunches for them. The goal is to get kids out of cars and into the school safely and to keep parent drivers in their cars to allow drop-offs to be efficient.
The morning routine is from 8:05-8:35 am.
The afternoon routine is from 2:50-3:10 pm MTuThF, and 12:20-12:40 pm Wed.
As the safety ambassador, you simply hang out by the curb in front of the school, wave cars along, open car doors for kids and help them get all of their gear out. You get to help out other parents by directly helping their kids, and also by keeping the road in front of the school unclogged, allowing for drop-offs to occur efficiently with less traffic back-ups.
We want our kids to be safe at drop-off and pick-up, and we want parents to feel like it is as smooth a process as possible. We can't do this without parent volunteers. Please sign up for one morning or afternoon per month, or even the same morning or afternoon every week! :) Our goal is to come together as a community to get this job done.
