Trailer Parking (2)
Work with the Regatta Director and our Director of Events to help manage the flow of traffic for all in-coming boat trailers and teams. This person will help in directing the trailer drivers to the correct parking spots in the lots along 6th street
Junior Clothing and Merchandise (2)
Help to tag and restock clothing and merchandise for the Junior Sales area.
Practice Row Control Commission (2)
Stand at launch site for practice row. Mark off all boats as they launch and then mark them off again as they dock so that we can know who all is on the water at all times
Practice Row Safety Launch (3)
Will be driving launches, monitoring crews on the water for safety. Volunteers are preferred to have driving experience and know the basic rules of the river and etiquette of rowing.
Lead Dock Master
Works closely with USRowing officials and helps to give direction to other volunteers. Volunteer needs to have previous experience with being a dock master and will be communicating with USRowing officials
Dock Master (3)
Must be aware of traffic pattern for rowing shells during races. Need to be able to speak clearly and expect a bit of chaos in between races. Work very closely with the control commission, which will be at the top of the ramp.
Control Commission (3)
Will be working closely with USRowing official, stationed at Control Commission. Will be in charge of checking coxswain weight by checking wrist bands, confirming all shells have bow balls, checking lightweight rower’s wrist bands, checking footstretchers
Launch Drivers (9)
Will be driving launches for the USRowing officials who will be helping with the start, the finish and in between races. Volunteers are preferred to have driving experience and know the basic rules of the river and etiquette of rowing races
Start Line Assistance (5)
Will be helping at the start in assisting USRowing officials with boat alignment, helping to organize crews in the warm up area, directing crews to the starting pods, and possibly help in the timing of the races.
Finish Line Assistance (5)
Will be at the finish assisting USRowing officials to spot the finish sequence of the crews, and assisting in timing activities like the buzzer, flag or taking back-up notes.
Weigh-In Station (4)
Will be helping with the weighing in of light-weight rowers and coxswains. Both coxswains and rowers need to weigh in once a day for their perspective events. There will be a USRowing official at the weigh in station to help all logistical questions
OKC Junior Rower Food Assistance (2)
Helps Junior Crew Food Chairs with Athlete food at the Chesapeake Boathouse.
Stake Boat Holder (7)
Will be on the starting pods which are located at the start of the race course. Volunteers will be holding on to the stern of the boat, and releasing at the call of the starting official
Provides "color commentary" over PA system for general spectators.
