WalkerFest (5)

Plan, organize and coordinate our main fundraising and social event (date TBD). Also looking for day of volunteers!

One Hour Club (20)

Donate an hour here and there throughout the year by helping with various school/PTO-sponsored events. Opportunities could be during the day or outside school hours. Get invited to help on a variety of committees, help when you can!

Art Awareness (8)

Provide art enrichment to students through individual classroom visits in your child's grade. Presentations are approximately 20-30 minutes long and occur one-two times per year. ALL training will be provided.

Bike Rodeo (8)

Organize the bike safety check (Bike Rodeo) prior to the start of school for all 3rd Graders or new 4th and 5th graders within to ride their bikes to school.

Book Fair (5)

Volunteer to help with the fall and spring book fairs at school *Chairperson Needed*

Enrichment/In Class Programming (5)

Coordinate with teachers to schedule in-class workshops/learning labs and after school programs.

Field Day (6)

Help the Physical Education teachers organize parent volunteers for Field Day near the end of the school year

Going Green (5)

Work with student ECO club, staff and parents to promote recycling and other “green” initiatives and reinforce lessons on how to protect our local and global environment. Plan activities around Earth Day in April.

Holiday Bazaar (5)

Plan and organize a holiday bazaar (shopping event for students) in early December.

MRC (Library) Volunteers (10)

Donate your time to work in the MRC. Volunteers check out books for students, shelve books and help the MRC Director with special projects. You can even schedule your shift to be at the same time as your child's weekly class visit to the MRC!

Recess Run Club (5)

Help count laps during the Recess Run Club. *Chairperson Needed*

Planters (5)

Keep the planters by the front entryway looking beautiful by updating them a handful of times during the year.

Science Team (6)

Help solidify STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) concepts to our students at Walker by providing in-class/after-school activities/classes. Design and coordinate a Science Fair to showcase students’ science projects *Chairperson Needed*

Plant Sale (4)

Plan the plant sale fundraiser in the spring.

Social (3)

Help coordinate and organize events for parent’s night out, mom’s night out, dad’s night out and other fun activities!

Spelling Bee (5)

Organize and orchestrate a Spelling Bee for grades K-5 per Scripps Guidelines in the late fall.

School Supply Kits (3)

Coordinate school supply ordering in January as well and help with distribution in August.

Spirit Wear (3)

Coordinate the design, ordering, sale and distribution of Walker logo clothing and accessories in the fall during back to school.

Spirit Lunch (8)

Volunteer during the lunch hour to help serve during lunch in the cafeteria. Each event will have a unique sign-up so help when you can, you don’t have to commit to every single month!

Staff Appreciation (8)

Help organize 2-3 Annual Luncheons and sporadic acts of kindness throughout the year for our teachers/faculty/staff to show our appreciation.

Buddy Familes (19)

Introduce and assist new families by becoming an assigned "buddy" family. Each parent volunteer will introduce themselves to the new family, answer questions and set up a small get-together. Indicate grade levels for next year in the comments.

Yearbook (3)

Help take photos throughout the year and gather photos from parents/teachers to compile into the school yearbook, which is printed at the end of the school year.
