2018 Volunteer at the Minneapolis Monarch Festival

The Minneapolis Monarch Festival celebrates the amazing 2,300 mile migration from Minnesota to central Mexico with music, arts, dance, food, and monarchs.

Volunteer Registration

The Minneapolis Monarch Festival –Festival de la Monarca™ offers many opportunities for a rewarding volunteer experience!  Please sign up to help us make this a successful, fun event for everyone. Volunteers must be at least 14 yrs and speak English (bilingual with Spanish is needed too). All volunteers receive an official Festival T-shirt as our way of saying thank you.

Please read the Volunteer Waiver, which is attached in Spanish and English. You will be asked to acknowledge it later in the registration process.

El Festival de la Monarca de Minneapolis ofrece diversas oportunidades para tener una experiencia gratificante de voluntariado! Por favor regístrese para ayudarnos a hacer de este un exitoso y divertido evento para todos. Voluntarios deben tener al menos 14 años y hablar inglés (Bilingües en español también se necesitan). Los voluntarios reciben una camisa oficial del festival como manera de agradecimiento.

This time slot is for a Spanish speaker only. Previous festival experience and an upbeat, friendly disposition is needed.

 

Greeters/Counters (3)

Greet and direct festival visitors. Help count numbers attending.

BioCycle Team (10)

Work with Master Recyclers & Composters to reduce the Festival's environmental footprint. Help visitors understand what to recycle & compost. Compost turns into soil where milkweed grows.

Art Assistant & BioCycle Team (6)

Assist artists and visitors creating monarch art projects. Half of the shift will be at a BioCycle Station.

Games Assistant & BioCycle Team (6)

Conduct Monarch Jeopardy, Monarch Bingo games and lead Root Pull and Flower Faces. Half of the shift will be at a BioCycle Station.

Costume Parade Assistant & BioCycle Team- Bilingual (Spanish and English) (2)

Assist staff with organizing and holding the costume parade. Parade time will be shared later (approx. 1 hour). The remainder of the shift will be at a BioCycle Station.

 

Naturescape & Wild Ones Tent- Spanish Speaker

Translate questions and answers into Spanish so information is accessible to everyone. The tent is in the main festival area.

 

Habitat Tent - Spanish speaker (2)

There will be experts on site; this role will make information about habitat, monarchs, native plants and the Naturescape accessible to native Spanish speakers.

 
12:40pm - 4:00pm
