Shout Out for Volunteers For the Corvette Parade!
FAIRGROUNDS VOLUNTEERS: AUGUST 25-27:
Meet at Guest Services aka the Goody Bag Garage, next to the Grand Stand, assist with checking-in and signing-up guests for the Parade. Free admission & parking is given to volunteers to enjoy the car show before or after your shift. You will also be given a free official Corvette Parade T-shirt. Duties include welcoming participants, answering questions about the parade and downtown, assisting in filling out forms, handling money/credit card payments, stuffing participant bags.
Volunteers Are Needed:
Thursday Aug 25: Shifts between 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Friday August 26: Shifts between 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Saturday August 27: Shifts between 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
SATURDAY AUGUST 27 DOWNTOWN CORVETTE PARADE VOLUNTEERS:
Sign up to be downtown and assist with directing the parade cars into parking areas along Hanover and High Streets. You'll also receive a free official Corvette Parade T-shirt. Total volunteer time is only 1 and 1/2 hours, you see the cars up close and a free t-shirt!
Meet at the Old Courthouse on the Square for a volunteer briefing at 6 pm. where you will be assigned a location. Once in place you will manage the car parade flow and ensure all cars are parked in appropriate locations.
This is a very exciting, up-close and personal way to see the parade. It is fun and easy. Age limits for all volunteers 18+.
Times on Saturday, August 27 are as follows:
Volunteer Briefing and Sign In - 6 pm at Old Courthouse on the Square
Parade - 7:00 - 7:30 pm
*Note: We know, typically, there is an after party with pizza and beer. We have decided to do a end of the end Volunteer Party for ALL DCA volunteers so we can included folks who volunteered at the fairgrounds but couldn't help with the parade. We'll be sending out details after Harvest of the Arts in the fall.
