ONLINE 2018 Leadership Through Community Partnership



Lesson Purpose: To demonstrate ways of creating and establishing collaborative partnerships between criminal justice professionals and the community.


Training Objectives: At the end of this block of instruction, the participant will be able to achieve the following objectives in accordance with the information presented during the instructional period:

  1. Understand the value and importance of partnering with community stakeholders in preventing, responding to, and solving crime.
  2. Identify methods of building trust and meaningful relationships between criminal justice professionals and community stakeholders as a collaborative model.
  3. Discuss ways to increase perceptions of police fairness, legitimacy, and effectiveness to generate community support.


*This course has been approved by North Carolina Sheriff's Standards Commission for detention officer and telecommunicator in-service topic of choice.*


Hours/Credits: Two (2)


Students will need to create a Moodle account at http://cecourses.pittcc.edu/
