Pitt Community College Law Enforcement Training Division
Lesson Purpose: To demonstrate ways of creating and establishing collaborative partnerships between criminal justice professionals and the community.
Training Objectives: At the end of this block of instruction, the participant will be able to achieve the following objectives in accordance with the information presented during the instructional period:
- Understand the value and importance of partnering with community stakeholders in preventing, responding to, and solving crime.
- Identify methods of building trust and meaningful relationships between criminal justice professionals and community stakeholders as a collaborative model.
- Discuss ways to increase perceptions of police fairness, legitimacy, and effectiveness to generate community support.
*This course has been approved by North Carolina Sheriff's Standards Commission for detention officer and telecommunicator in-service topic of choice.*
