11/06/2020 - Processing the DWI: Arrest through Trial

So you placed the driver under arrest for DWI, what happens now?

This course will cover the DWI process starting after the arrest and take you through testifying in court.

We will cover the DWI process if you are a chemical analyst or the charging officer only.

The required paperwork to complete and the order in which it should be completed, and given to the suspect.

We will cover the challenges you will face in court and how to overcome those challenges.

There will be a practical exercise with a District Attorney and Defense Attorney so you can see some of the common challenges that you will face in court. This will cover questions from the state and the defense. Let’s get comfortable on the stand and become proficient in the terminology we should be using as Law Enforcement.

Remember,  the more prepared you are to testify, the less challenges you face on the stand.
