We occasionally get asked if families can come visit our small homestead to "get out of the house" but still stay socially distanced.
So, an idea came to us:
1. We love sharing our love and journey of agriculture and self sufficiency.
2. However, we want to stay safe during this time.
3. We don't want to overwhelm our animals, which are part of our family.
4. Why not let our curious ducks, fluffy rabbits, sassy chickens, playful/adorable goats and the quail start paying a bit more of their feed bill. :). *Funds raised will also be used to pay for supplies of our new Cloverbud 4H group*
So, we are going to give something a try.
We are going to have a sign up system to allow families to come visit the homestead, for 45 minutes (to allow a bit of time between visitors for a bit of cleaning/sanitizing) at a time.
The recommended "feed bill" donation is $10 a family.
You are welcome to bring some fruit/veggie scraps for the animals to feed them, pet some of the animals, and feel free to ask questions about them and how we got started on our homsteading journey.
I will also have some scratch feed and worms to feed the ducks and chickens. Supervised children are welcome to brush the adult goats. I'll happily give you a bit of a tour, answer any questions you may have, introduce to some of our most charismatic residents- or if you'd rather- just leave you alone to have some peace and quiet outside as a family enjoying the animals. Whatever you'd like.
Once you reserve a spot I'll shoot you an email within 24 hours with our address, information, and a link to donate via paypal or venmo. Cash is also accepted day of :)
