PA/NJ Chapter of The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF)

Festival of Wood

We are seeking volunteers to represent the PA/NJ Chapter of TACF at this two-day family event focused on environmental education at historic Grey Towers. This event which is traditionally held in August has been combined with National Public Lands Day and is now scheduled for September 24th and 25th. Grey Towers is a National Historic Site located in Milford, Pennsylvania. It was originally the summer estate of the James Pinchot family and later the primary home of Gifford Pinchot, America's first forester and founder of the USDA Forest Service.

Volunteer for a few hours and spend the rest of the day enjoying this historical treasure.

First time volunteering? No worries. Our display provides a helpful visual aid for sharing the whole story including the American chestnut. We'll also provide you with an FAQ which will have you sounding like an expert in no time.

September 24th and 25th
Saturday (10:00 am – 5:00 pm)
Sunday (10:00 am – 4:00 pm)
