Booth at Scandia Farmers Market

The Scandia-Marine Lions Club will have a booth at the Scandia Farmers Market on June 22nd, July 20th, and August 17th (all are on Wednesdays). We will have information about joining our club, volunteering with service activities throughout the upcoming year, and upcoming events (like Taco Daze). We also will be collecting plastic bags for the Bags-to-Benches program, pop tabs, and  eyeglasses.

At the June 22nd Farmers Market, we will be giving out native plants that help pollinators for people to transplant at their homes/yards. This is a free gift for anyone who stops by the booth.                    

At the July 20th Farmers Market, we will display information about the Minnesota Lions Foundation. There’s a possibility that one of the directors from the Foundation would be at our booth to answer any questions that visitors have about Diabetes and the Foundation. We also will enter people in a giveaway for six $15 Green Grocery Shares to anyone who makes a donation to one of the collections.  

At the August 17th Farmers Market, we will have 4 gift baskets using items from the farmers/vendors. If people drop off something for one of our collection drives, they will be entered into the raffle for a gift basket. This supports local farmers and provides a variety of produce/nutritious food for the winners. It also draws attention to the different items that the Lions collect to support the global causes.

Note: there is a 10'x10' tent that can be used for the Farmers Market. Tables and chairs would come from the Scandia Community Center. Assistance with set-up and clean-up is available from the Scandia Farmers Market.
