Every year on Simchat Torah evening, after dancing with the Torahs, we unroll one Torah scroll entirely and it takes up half the sanctuary. It is always breathtaking, a powerful display of how the Torah lives through us and our speaking its words.
We invite our 8th and 9th graders to stand in front of their Torah portion and read the first few verses they read or will read at their b'nei mitzvah. We will begin in Genesis and go down the line until everyone has read their part. (Teens in 9th grade may have done this on Zoom last year, but we're excited to be together in-person this year.)
We will make sure the teens know where to stand and we will help them find their verse.
Please sign up with the teen's name AND THE NAME OF THEIR TORAH PORTION to participate. No need to count other guests.
