Carmel Back Sacks
We are feeding children that are on free and reduced lunches in the Carmel School System. We need a little help to get this done!
These children are considered "at risk", by their school counselors, for not having foods readily available to them over the weekend.
The term, "BackSACK", means that a SACK of food that is easy to carry is placed in their back pack to go home with on Friday evening. It provides the breakfast and lunch they would have at school if they were there. These are simple foods that they can prepare in their own!
The Fall/Holiday/Spring break bags are for the ENTIRE time the children are off from school! They also include some fresh fruit and vegetables, like baby carrots and mandarin oranges, to provide the best nutrition possibe, while still making the food "ready to serve" for the children's ease!
We are also helping to deliver free lunches to children that are homebound, and parents lack the ability to get to school to pick up their free lunches! We deliver from Carmel High School to the homes. I must have 6 people per week and must know that you will be there!
Please email Steve Wichmanowski to ask any questions about back sack packing! [email protected]
