Open Table Ministry
Open Table Ministry is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that serves lunch to Durham's homeless community every Monday. We rely on volunteer groups to provide and serve a hot lunch (food, drinks, etc.) for about 125 people at noon every Monday, rain or shine. In general, about six-seven people are needed for serving. Please plan on arriving 25 minutes early (by 11:35 am) to set up the food, and please bring serving utensils, as well as disposable plates, cups, napkins, and flatware for 125 people.
NEW: We have commercial ovens, stovetop, dishwasher, and an ice-maker onsite for your use as needed. You are welcome to do the food prep and cooking in our kitchen, just please let us know in the comments section what time you plan to arrive so we can be there to meet you.
The location is the basement fellowship hall of Trinity United Methodist Church, at 215 N. Church St., Durham.
Contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions. More lunch information and guidelines can be found here.
As Open Table Ministry is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, your donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We are happy to provide a tax receipt for your food expenses upon request.
We now have some limited parking in the rear of the church building which volunteers are welcome to use on a first-come, first-served basis. Please park ONLY in the spots marked "Trinity United Methodist Church." All other spots are reserved so please do not use any spots other than those.
These lunches are just one aspect of what we do at OTM. Learn more about us at www.opentableministry.org. Thank you for helping the homeless and unsheltered in our community!
