Riverview Recreation
The City of Riverview is proud to be hosting The Wall That Heals in Riverview, August 12-15, 2021. The Wall is a three-quarter size traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. The success of The Wall That Heals comes from those who volunteer their time. Please review the volunteer needs and signup to help the healing in Riverview.
All TWTH Ambassadors and Overnight Volunteers are encouraged to attend the volunteer training session held on Wednesday, August 11 at 6:00 pm. The training is conducted by the Site Manager and takes place in front of The Wall and runs about an hour. Volunteer t-shirts will be passed out at the training.
Setup volunteers - Setup volunteers to unload and help assemble The Wall and Mobile Education Center. Able-bodied volunteers are needed for 6 – 8 hours (or as long as it takes). No equipment required, VVMF supplies all tools needed and gloves. Must be able to help move panels up to 100 lbs. for 250’ over grass area. Lunch provided by Downriver The Wall That Heals Committee.

TWTH Ambassador Volunteers - These volunteers are needed to provide a friendly face and ensure that each visitor feels welcome to The Wall acting as an ambassador for The Wall That Heals. Volunteers to greet visitors and assist them with visiting The Wall. 7 am. – 11 p.m. each day the Wall is on Site.

TWTH Ambassador Overnight Volunteers - With The Wall open 24 hours the host needs to ensure that there are volunteers to greet and assist late night visitors and stand watch for The Wall. Overnight volunteers are encouraged to bring folding chairs to use during their shift. (this is not security but friendly overnight volunteers there to greet visitors)

Covid-19 Precautions
VVMF and the Host shall maintain and exceed health safety standards as established by the appropriate federal, state and local entities.
Facial Coverings/Masks. Throughout the display period, all volunteers shall wear facial coverings or masks that completely cover the nose and mouth while in the public areas or when engaged with visitors or volunteers. Both the Site Host and the VVMF Site Manager shall enforce this directive. Any volunteer failing to meet this directive must not be allowed to remain on site.
