BARRIER ISLAND PARKS SOCIETY
Sea Turtle nesting season is here! Are you curious about nesting habits of sea turtles, what they eat, the environment they live in, how big they get, and how we can better protect them?
Find out the answers to these questions and more, along with learning other ways we can help maintain their nesting environments on our beautiful barrier islands. The goal of this program is to create a greater awareness and understanding of the sea turtles that nest on our local barrier island beaches as well as other Florida beaches.
Meet the Park Ranger at the Picnic Pavilion at Stump Pass Beach State Park. Program begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.
1) Wear Sunscreen
2) Wear a hat and sunglasses
3) We will be outside on the beach. This time of year sand is hot so shoes are a good idea :)
There is no fee for this program, however, it is facilitated by Barrier Island Parks Society (501c3 non-profit) in partnership with Florida Park Service, and donations are appreciated to further enhance our educational programs. There is a $3 vehicle fee to park at Stump Pass Beach State Park.
