ASA Now invites youth and adult volunteers to help us paint a mural on our 40 ft. pod. This is a four month life skills class in which youth impacted by foster care will be painting a mural. This event will give youth the opportunity to be creative. When completed, the mural will be something they'll be able to come back to and visit for many years to come. Adults are encouraged to volunteer to assist with this project. A special thank you to artist Nick Kowalski for his willingness to give of his time and talents.
Please bring a paint brush and/or a small paint roller frame and roller if you have one. Paint will be available. If you happen to have a ladder and some old towels or rags, be sure to bring those as well.

A new Health Order requires everyone in Mesa to wear face coverings when they are outside of their homes for essential needs, and requires staff and volunteers who interact with the public to cover their face while doing essential work. Upon arrival to Jacob's Mission Community Center you will be asked to sign-in, sanitize your hands and your temperature will be taken. We ask that all volunteers wear a face covering at all times. One will be provided if you do not bring one. Volunteers with symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle aches, headache, chills, or fever should stay home. We ask that volunteers wash or sanitize hands often (sanitizer will be provided). Volunteers will practice social/physical distancing as much as possible and ask that they stand or sit at least 6 feet apart from other volunteers.
PLEASE CALL US IF YOU ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO ATTEND AT 623-428-1592

There are currently more than 14,000 children in the foster care system in Arizona and more than 400,000 in the US, and that statistic is rising rapidly due to our drug and opioid crisis. Every statistic that you see is not just a number - every number is a child. A child who was forced to leave their home. If you look at the statistics regarding Foster Care, it is alarming. Failure at school, high school dropouts, teen pregnancies, drug use, mental health problems, homelessness, incarceration, unemployment and the list goes on.
Please consider being the light in these children’s life. There are numerous ways to take action, change starts with each one of us. Be a mentor, volunteer, donate money to help the programs that reverse the statistics of our foster kids. We know what being in the system does to foster children self-esteem, and mentoring and volunteering helps prevent repeating that cycle. Find a way to provide your skills and services to help children. Support these kids who have been abused, neglected by their families. If you can’t volunteer at the center, then hold clothing, food donation or toy drives, there truly are a lot of opportunities to help.
ASA Now is a volunteer driven organization and we are a foster care charitable organization if you cannot volunteer, we welcome you to make monetary donation. ASA Now needs assistance with operational expenses. Please consider making a donation.
