Sunday, Sept. 12 at Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian Church.  Located at 11662 Hope Court, set back in the woods near the corner of Hwy 267 and Brockway Road.

Meet us at 9:30 am for a brief worship service followed by service projects that will benefit our community and the world!  Choose from one of three service projects:

Tahoe Truckee Unified School District - Backpack Giveback - Purchase backpacks and back-to-school supplies (spiral notebooks, pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers) prior to Sept. 12. It is recommended that each participating family spend approximately $15 to $30 on backpacks and supplies, but whatever you can contribute will be appreciated! Drop off your donations at church on Sunday Sept. 5 or Sept. 12 anytime between 9:30 am - 11:00 am. On Sunday, Sept. 12, volunteers will assemble the backpacks.  Backpacks and supplies will be donated to Truckee Elementary, Glenshire Elementary, and Alder Creek Middle School for distribution to local students.  Work will be done outside, or in case of smoke or inclement weather, inside with face coverings.  Time commitment: 1 hr. to assemble backpacks plus time spent shopping for school supplies.

Days for Girls - Days for Girls is an international organization that provides health information and lasting access to feminine hygiene solutions to young women across the globe. Volunteers will complete various steps to make the carrying bag for the sustainable reusable feminine hygiene kits. All are welcome as the project involves both straight stitch sewing and non-sewing steps. We will supply all the materials needed. Work will be done in the comfort of your own home at your leisure with detailed instructions and access to Team Leaders to answer any questions.  Time commitment: 2 hrs.

Sierra Community House - Hunger Relief Program - A non-profit organization that collects, stores, and redistributes food throughout the North Lake Tahoe / Truckee region in an effort to reduce the incidence of hunger and its detrimental effects on individuals, families, and the community.  8 volunteers (youth age 15 and up with an adult guardian) are needed to sort and organize food and supplies at the Sierra Community House warehouse in Truckee.  Work will be done outside, or in case of smoke or inclement weather, inside with face coverings.  Time commitment: 2 hrs.
