Reading for Paws
Reading for Paws is a program intended for an audience of 2nd grade through 8th grade children. Its purpose is to promote children’s reading skills and interests, while also providing a means for socializing and promoting human interaction with the animals that are housed at the Watauga Humane Society’s Adoption Center.
The program will run three days a week, Tuesday through Thursday, in the mornings. Children must be registered 24 hours in advance. Two time slots of 30 minutes each will be available: 11:30 and 12:00. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Each child will have the opportunity to read to, and interact with, one of the Center’s animals.
