At Trinity, one of our key areas of focus in mission is alleviating hunger. To that end, we have created a Little Free Pantry. You can read more about this movement here: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article236253103.html
We hope that this beautiful structure is a visual reminder to all of us and to our neighbors that we have resources to share. There are no rules about who can enjoy the items or when or why they take them, since anyone can GIVE or TAKE at any time.
While anyone is invited to take items or to restock them, we'd like to ask families to sign up to "adopt" the pantry for a week. You will need to visit the site of the pantry at church, check the supplies, make sure they are not damaged or depleted, make a list, and shop for the items, and then return to restock the pantry. Please stock with non-perishable food items (especially healthy and nutritious ones) and/or health/sanitation supplies like wet wipes, feminine products, hand sanitizer.* Please make sure to rotate stock so that the newest items are placed at the back. You are also invited to dust items, wipe down the inside and outside of the pantry with a cloth, and make sure the structure and items inside are beautifully maintained.
*We will send you a specific list of desired items when you sign up. If you cannot physically come to church to stock, we also have an Amazon wish list.
If you see any major problems, or if you have questions about stocking the pantry, please contact Meredith Thompson or Reverend Rebecca Heilman.
