Volunteers
Do you enjoy nature and walking outdoors?
Shawnee is looking for volunteers to monitor its bluebird nesting boxes located in Gamblin Park, Garrett Park, Stump Park, along Clear Creek Trail and Blackfish Trail.
No experience is needed, volunteers will receive training from Extension Master Nautralists (EMN's). During the nesting season, March through August, EMN's will mentor and support bluebird volunteers by answering questions and/or coming out to assist. The training will be held, virtually, on Saturday, February 6th from 10-11:30 a.m.. If you cannot attend this training, the recording will be shared with you to attend at a later date. Past volunteers who have served in this role will be asked to attend as a refresher course.
- Volunteers should be 16 or older.
- Training is required.
- Nesting boxes are to be monitored and checked weekly.
