Please join us to support this incredible community effort to provide mock job interviews for high school students at the 16th annual NW Youth Careers Expo on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to hold mock job interviews and review students' resumes at the Careers Expo. More than 1,000 students have already signed up for interviews! We are looking for +150 volunteers to support these students as they navigate their way into the local workforce.
Save the date, sign up to volunteer, and recruit a few friends to volunteer with you.
When: Tuesday, March 10, 2020 (9:00am to 1:30pm)
Where: Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97232
Who can volunteer: HR professionals and other caring volunteers with some experience interviewing candidates and a desire to help teenagers gain confidence and skills.
What mock interview volunteers do: Conduct 10-minute job interviews and offer positive, constructive feedback that will help students for their next "real" interview for a job or college admissions.
What presentation support volunteers do: Greet students, track attendance, and asisst presenters as needed.
What check-in and line volunteers do: Greet students and help direct them to the mock interviews and/or presentation sessions.
Training and materials ARE provided!
Throughout the day, there are times when fewer students are present for interviews. During these "slower" periods, volunteers are welcome to tour the Expo, network wtih other volunteers or visit the Volunteer Lounge.

The annual NW Youth Careers Expo is organized by the nonprofit Portland Workforce Alliance. It hosts 6,500 high school students from the Metro area and beyond and features over 190 exhibitors representing the region's leading employers. The mock interviews are a popular and valued part of the Expo.
