We need 150+ volunteers! Here's your chance to help 1000+ high school kids through volunteering to conduct mock job interviews at the 2019 NW Youth Careers Expo (Tuesday, March 19, 2019).
March will be here soon, so save the date, sign up to volunteer for a shift or more, and recruit a few friends to volunteer with you.
Through an incredible shared effort, local volunteers from the business community have helped to provide mock job interviews to more than 1,000 high school students at the last NW Youth Careers Expo. Together, we can continue to meet or beat our record at the next Expo on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at the Oregon Convention Center.
We need 150 volunteers to meet the huge demand from students: More than 1,000 students have already signed up for interviews!
Please join us and sign up:
Who can volunteer: HR professionals and other caring volunteers with some experience interviewing candidates (and a desire to help teenagers gain confidence and skills).
What mock interview volunteers do: Conduct 10-minute job interviews and offer positive, constructive feedback that will help students for their next "real" interview for a job or college admissions.
What presentation support volunteers do: Support the presenters who facilitate 25-minute presentations on topics such as acing your first job interview and landing a summer job. Through supporting the presenters and hearing the material, support volunteers have an opportunity to be presenters the following year.
What check-in and line volunteers do: Greet students and help direct them to the mock interviews and/or presentation sessions.
Training and materials ARE provided!
Sign up online on Signup Genius. The Expo runs from 9 am to 1:30 pm.
