RITI Winter 2019/2020 @ St Ann Bartlett 

 

Volunteer Guidefor Room in the Inn (RITI) at SVDP Food Mission "Ozanam Center".

Evening Transportation-pick up guests at 5:30pm from Carpenter’s House (212 N. Second) bring to SVDP Food Mission "Ozanam Center"(1306 Monroe Avenue) - currently provided by Reed from St Patricks.

SET UP: Leave St Ann Chapel parking lot promptly at 3:30(or navigate on your own) to arrive at Ozanam Center by 4:00pm to prepare the Inn. Set up crew can deliver food to Inn if preparer is unable to participate at Inn.

CARPENTER HOUSE volunteer: Help us welcome guests at Carpenter's House from 4:30-6pm on the night you host. We will have staff and regular volunteers on site doing the routine things but would love having others from your churches there to help us greet, serve coffee, and help with various needs that arise each evening. 

FOOD:  All items should be cooked in advance (and should include a fresh vegetable) and be enough to serve 24 people. Items should be delivered by 5:00pm(or Set Up crew can deliver if you make arrangements with them). When the meal is over load dishwasher with as much as you can, hand wash and dry the rest. Leave the kitchen and dining area like we found it (or better). Team Leader Jeff Bedwell 901-212-5056

SHOWER:  Need 2 people from 6:15pm to 8:30pm.  Duties include setting up schedule on white board (15 minutes each), handing out towels and washcloths to our guests and keeping guests on schedule.  May include starting a load of laundry prior to leaving for the evening.  Duties could be performed by Hospitality volunteers,  If that is desired, please sign up for both slots.

Evening Host: Warmly welcome guests and give directions to sleeping quarters, bathrooms, and dining room. Serve the evening meal (serving women first) and sit down to share the communion meal with guests.Then either help with clothes closet/shoe room. Overnight Shepherds: Make sure the guests know your face and name as someone they can count on for the night. Quiet time/lights out is at 10:00pm. You are encouraged to bring sleeping bag, but there are sheets and blankets available.  Girls and guys have separate rooms and guests know that they must observe all rules. Start coffee at 4:30am. Wakeup is at 5:30am. Coffee, breakfast sandwiches and fruit for breakfast. Team Leader Jeff Bedwell 901-212-5056

Morning Transportation arrive at 6:00am to get guests back from Ozanam Center to The Carpenter’s House (212 N.Second) Please deliver all guests ONLY to Carpenter's House. Currently provided by St Patricks via Reed.  Team Leader Jeff Bedwell 901-212-5056

Inn Cleaners arrive at Ozanam Center at 5:30am- are  responsible for cleaning the facility to get it ready for other churches to use during the week. Check to make sure bathrooms, showers, laundry room, kitchen and dining area are thoroughly cleaned. Collect linens for laundry angels.  

Laundry Angel:  Laundry will be returned to Bartlett by Overnight Shepherd.  Meet at St Ann parking lot about 8AM.  Wash linens in hot water, dry and fold. Then return the linens to SVDP Food Mission "Ozanam Center"(1306 Monroe Avenue) by the next event . Team Leader Jeff Bedwell 901-212-5056

Items always Needed: socks, underwear, sports bras, ground coffee, paper towels and napkins are needed. Monetary donations to help expenses. Also, disinfecting spray, shower cleaner, disinfecting wipes, garbage bags, dish liquid.
