During the fires, Salem Hills High School served as the evacuation center for our 3 evacuated communities. During that time, we depleted most of their emergency supplies. We have learned that they currently do not have emergency supplies in individual classrooms and would like to thank the school by donating items to create classroom emergency buckets for the entire school. On Saturday, May 18th, there will be an Earthquake, Fires, Floods, What's Next? Symposium and Emergency Preparedness Fair held at Salem Hills High School. At 10 a.m. speakers will share lessons learned from the fire and what's next in the auditorium. You can drop off items in the adjacent gym right before the speakers start. After the speakers finish, visit the booths with emergency information or help assemble the classroom buckets in the adjacent gym. Items can also be dropped off in the front office during school hours on Thursday or Friday, May 16th or 17th. Just tell the secretaries they are for the Emergency Buckets. THANK YOU for helping us give back! If you want to donate cash to fill in gaps, you can Venmo donations for Emergency Buckets to Stephanie Ashcraft (@Stephanie-Ashcraft). Any extra money will go to purchase more toilet seat lids for buckets.
We hope to put together 75 buckets with emergency supplies for the school. Click the sign up spot to the right of the item you are planning to donate, then click "Submit and sign up" at the bottom of the page. It will take you to a page where you enter in quantity. If you wanted to bring 5 boxes of bandaids, you would select 5. Mylar blankets are sold individually or in a 20 pack at Amazon. If you bought a 20 pack, you would select 20 under quantity. Hopefully that clears up any confusion.
