One Friday (mostly First Fridays) a month adoration is held at the St. Mary Catholic High School Chapel. Adorers are present from 8 am through the close of the school day at 3 pm coming in one hour shifts. This is a time for praise, contemplation and petition to God. Our students, staff and benefactors are prayed for in addition to the Pope's and Bishop's intentions for the month. Here are our special intentions:
10/4/19 For seminarians especially Jace Scheffler - recent graduate of SMCHS
11/8/19 For alumni and other in the SMCS family that are VETERANS
12/6/19 Pastor of St. Margaret Mary's - Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken
1/10/20 Pastor of St. Gabriel's - Fr. Bob Kollath
2/7/20 Pastor of St. Mary and St. John Parishes - Fr. Paul Paider
3/6/20 Fr. John Christmann SSS - 1993 Graduate of SMC and member of the Blessed Sacrament order. Pastor at St. Pascal Baylon Parish in Cleveland, OH
4/3/20 Alumni who are missionaries (Maria Schmitz, Collin Konetzke, Sam Schultz and Claire Kalaus)
This time of adoration is also attended by students in religion classes as well as during their free time. Community members, alumni, and parents are welcome to sign up for a hour of adoration or just to stop in during our adoration hours for a visit with Jesus! There will be mass at 7:15 on each of the adoration days! All are welcome! Also the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be said during 9th hour (2:50-3:12). A few paragraphs from the Diary will be read and then the chaplet will be prayed.
"Know also that you will probably gain more by praying fifteen minutes before the Blessed Sacrament than by all the other spiritual exercises of the day. True, Our Lord hears our prayers anywhere, for He has made the promise, 'Ask, and you shall receive,' but He has revealed to His servants that those who visit Him in the Blessed Sacrament will obtain a more abundant measure of grace."
- St. Alphonsus Liguori
