St. Benedict's Easter Meal 2019

Please join St Benedict's in supporting the annual Easter Meal.  We will host over 300 attendees from our community.  The buffet-style meal will be held on Easter morning (April 21st) in Beaven and Ackerman halls from 11 am to 1 pm

We are seeking volunteers in the following areas:

  1. Help us to host our guests.  We are looking for volunteers to make a 2 hour commitment to help set up, serve, help with security and clean-up. Shifts will begin at 7:30 am and the last will conclude around 3pm.

  2. Donate food for the Easter meal.  Donations can be made on Easter day only.  If you need to make special arrangements, please contact Elaine Lindia at 773-509-3806.  We are looking for donations of:
    1. Ham   *cooked
    2. Potatoes   *cooked
    3. Vegetables to be used as sides   *cooked
    4. Desserts 
    5. Beverages 

*Please deliver all food donations to Beaven Hall on Easter morning. Thank you!

Volunteer or Food

Set up Volunteer: 7:30am-9:30am (10)

Set up - help to be prepared to serve at 11 am - includes table set up and set up of buffet

 

9:30 to 11:30 Complete set up and prep items for tables to be ready for guests (6)

This task includes getting any items such as rolls to each table and ensuring all buffet lines are ready for serving

 

Check in Volunteers 8:30 to 10:30 (2)

Work the volunteer check in desk -ensure volunteers are aware of task assignment or new areas needing help

 

Check in Guests and volunteers and Monitor guests leaving 10:30 to 12:30 (2)

Check in guests and volunteers and monitor guests leaving

 

Check in volunteers and monitor guests 12:30 to 2:30 (2)

Check in volunteers signed up for clean up and monitor guests leaving

 

Volunteer Kitchen duties: 9am-11am (5)

Food and Misc. Preparation and clean up - adults only in kitchen area

Table Serving Volunteer: 10:30 to 12:30 (32)

Monitor tables - ensure guests come to buffet line in orderly fashion, serve beverages to guests at their table

Ham must be cooked in the oven and prepared at home. We can slice it for you, but it must be cooked in the oven at home before you drop it off
