Coleman HSA Committees & Chairs 2021-2022

Coleman HSA invites you to volunteer this year!  The HSA wouldn't exist without the help of all the AMAZING parents at our school, so please consider one of the many ways you can get involved.  We have opportunities for everyone from small commitments to larger ones and daytime and evening activities, too.  

Please take a look at the list below.  We are looking for class parents for each grade, chairs for many committees and volunteers for all sorts of fun activities.  (Please note in the COMMENT field if you are interested in chairing a specific committee.)

Order and distribute bagels on early dismissal days (4x a year).

Flash Playdates on First Day & Last Day of School (6)

Flash playdates take place on the first and last days of school (last day is a half day). Responsible for ordering pizza/ice cream/snacks/drinks (on behalf of the HSA and choices vary by day) and selling those items during the playdates.

 

Adult Fall Social in October (6)

Help plan our fall social that takes place in October! Planning includes communicating with venue and entertainment to ensure an amazing night!

Farm Fest (4)

Coordinate with local farm for plant and produce sale. Purchase (on behalf of HSA) food and beverages to be sold the day of event. Organize volunteers and set up games, activities and crafts for this after-school event.

Apparel Sales (4)

Organize sales of Coleman clothing/accessories, set up apparel table at various school events throughout the year and assist in distribution of purchased items

Box Tops (2)

Collect and submit Box Tops for Education for cash rebates. Help to organize and facilitate contests during the year to encourage participation (usually two contests per year).

Book Fair in October (6)

Coordinate delivery of books and merchandise from vendor. Manage set up of event, which occurs after school the day before the sale. Organize and oversee volunteers during the two-day sale.

Online Directory Cordinator

Perfect job to do from home! Work will primarily take place during September as we get the directory updated with new information. Some minor updates will take place throughout the year.

 

Art Docent/TIC TOC (30)

Hang up and take down pictures and special collections on loan from TIC TOC (monthly commitment of 30 minutes). Represent Coleman at monthly TIC TOC Board Meetings (90 minutes per meeting). Promote TIC TOC events at school.

Habitat Day (4)

Designate an appropriate theme related to the environment, gardening, etc. Purchase (on behalf of the HSA) any necessary supplies and coordinate relevant stations for each grade. Manage volunteers the day of the event.

 

KidStuff Coupon Book (Fall) (2)

Coordinate sale and distribution of coupon books to Coleman families. Sales usually occur during September and October.

Glen Rock Library Read-A-Thon (2)

Publicize the read-a-thon on behalf of the library to Coleman School through the class parents. Collect forms and deliver to the library at the end of the event.

New Family Coordinator

Help new families transition to Coleman as they arrive throughout the year. Once notified of a new family, responsibilities include adding them to the directory, giving them a Coleman welcome bag and making their transition a smooth one.

Hospitality (4)

Purchase food and beverages (on behalf of HSA) for various functions throughout the year. Events include, but are not limited to, Back to School Luncheons for teachers, Back to School Breakfast for parents, Staff Appreciation, etc.

Snowtubing in January (4)

Coordinate and manage an evening of snowtubing at Campgaw for Coleman families.

 

Trivia Night (4)

Supervise this event where families compete on answering various trivia questions. Responsibilities include working with trivia vendor and purchasing (on behalf of HSA) food and prizes to be used the evening of the event.
