Coleman HSA Committees & Chairs 2021-2022

Bagel Sales (4)

Order and distribute bagels on early dismissal days (4x a year).

Ice Cream Day (4)

Order and distribute ice cream on ice cream sale days (approximately twice a month).

Pasta Day (4)

Order and distribute pasta on pasta days (usually twice a month).

Flash Playdates on First Day & Last Day of School (6)

Flash playdates take place on the first and last days of school (last day is a half day). Responsible for ordering pizza/ice cream/snacks/drinks (on behalf of the HSA and choices vary by day) and selling those items during the playdates.

Adult Fall Social in October (6)

Help plan our fall social that takes place in October! Planning includes communicating with venue and entertainment to ensure an amazing night!

Farm Fest (4)

Coordinate with local farm for plant and produce sale. Purchase (on behalf of HSA) food and beverages to be sold the day of event. Organize volunteers and set up games, activities and crafts for this after-school event.

Apparel Sales (4)

Organize sales of Coleman clothing/accessories, set up apparel table at various school events throughout the year and assist in distribution of purchased items

Box Tops (2)

Collect and submit Box Tops for Education for cash rebates. Help to organize and facilitate contests during the year to encourage participation (usually two contests per year).

Book Fair in October (6)

Coordinate delivery of books and merchandise from vendor. Manage set up of event, which occurs after school the day before the sale. Organize and oversee volunteers during the two-day sale.

Online Directory Cordinator

Perfect job to do from home! Work will primarily take place during September as we get the directory updated with new information. Some minor updates will take place throughout the year.

Art Docent/TIC TOC (30)

Hang up and take down pictures and special collections on loan from TIC TOC (monthly commitment of 30 minutes). Represent Coleman at monthly TIC TOC Board Meetings (90 minutes per meeting). Promote TIC TOC events at school.

Bingo Night (10)

Coordinate and manage an evening of bingo for Coleman families.

Assemblies (2)

Work with teachers and principal to coordinate appropriate assemblies for each grade level. Perfect opportunity for anyone to do from home.

DEI Committee (6)

the DEI Committee at Coleman will work to celebrate differences in race, nationality, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and abilities.

Gardening (2 x's) (4)

Coordinate volunteers to help spruce up garden beds in front of school and around Coleman sign twice during the year.

Walk-A-Thon in October

Distribute and collect forms and donations.

Habitat Day (4)

Designate an appropriate theme related to the environment, gardening, etc. Purchase (on behalf of the HSA) any necessary supplies and coordinate relevant stations for each grade. Manage volunteers the day of the event.

KidStuff Coupon Book (Fall) (2)

Coordinate sale and distribution of coupon books to Coleman families. Sales usually occur during September and October.

Glen Rock Library Read-A-Thon (2)

Publicize the read-a-thon on behalf of the library to Coleman School through the class parents. Collect forms and deliver to the library at the end of the event.

New Family Coordinator

Help new families transition to Coleman as they arrive throughout the year. Once notified of a new family, responsibilities include adding them to the directory, giving them a Coleman welcome bag and making their transition a smooth one.

Hospitality (4)

Purchase food and beverages (on behalf of HSA) for various functions throughout the year. Events include, but are not limited to, Back to School Luncheons for teachers, Back to School Breakfast for parents, Staff Appreciation, etc.

Drama Club (3rd-5th Graders) (4)

Work with production company to coordinate play. Set up rehearsal schedule and manage volunteers throughout event.

Learning Center Chair

Create sign up to coordinate volunteers from each grade who will be present during their child's class library time.

Holiday Shop in December (6)

Coordinate this holiday shopping event that allows children to buy small gifts for their loved ones. Responsibilities include purchasing items to be sold at sale as well as wrapping supplies. Also need to coordinate volunteers to assist during event.

Snowtubing in January (4)

Coordinate and manage an evening of snowtubing at Campgaw for Coleman families.

Trivia Night (4)

Supervise this event where families compete on answering various trivia questions. Responsibilities include working with trivia vendor and purchasing (on behalf of HSA) food and prizes to be used the evening of the event.

STEM Night (8)

Volunteers are needed for set up, assembly during the event and clean up.

Carnation Sale in February (4)

Coordinate flower sale with florist. Package and distribute carnations on day of the event.

International Night in March (4)

Serve as point of contact for families participating in this evening event that celebrates Coleman's diverse culture. Coordinate volunteers, set up and supervise this event.

Science Fair in March (4)

Coordinate volunteers, student sign ups and gym set up during the science fair, during which children are invited to create and display projects. Parents will be invited to view projects in the evening.

Adult Spring Auction in April (8)

Help plan our Spring Social/Auction. Planning includes venue selection, food, entertainment and gathering/coordinating auction items.

Art Show in May (4)

Assist art teacher and coordinate volunteers to help set up and take down children's artwork at annual show.

Art Show Bake Sale in May (4)

Coordinate volunteers and sale of food at annual Art Show.

Teacher Appreciation Week in May (4)

decorate, run events, hand out giveaways, set up luncheon, etc.

4th Grade Plant Sale in May (4)

Work with local nursery to schedule plant delivery, set up sale, coordinate volunteers. All proceeds from this event go toward 5th grade activities. Plant Sale takes place during the Art Show in the spring.

Field Day & BBQ (4)

Coordinate volunteers to work each station at Field Day. Coordinate details for school-wide BBQ lunch including purchasing food, setting up and recruiting volunteers.

Circus Concessions in June (4)

4th grade parents needed to run concession table during Friday night circus performance.

Circus in June (6)

Serve as point of contact for circus vendor. Purchase (on behalf of HSA) snacks and circus gear to be sold the evening of the event. Coordinate volunteers to assist during the circus (held on a Friday evening).

Pool Party in June (6)

Coordinate volunteers for this school-wide pool party that takes place at the Glen Rock Pool. Coordinate food/snack sales including order placement and distribution of pre-ordered pizzas.

Social Media

Maintain the Coleman Facebook page by keeping the member list updated and posting relevant school announcements throughout the year.
