In addition to completing the online U Got This! program, first-year and transfer students must also attend an in-person GetWIse workshop. These workshops allow students the opportunity to explore some of the content in the U Got This! program more thoroughly with their peers.
All GetWIse workshops are 90 minutes, interactive, designed for audiences of up to 25, and led by trained UHS peer educators. Participants will engage in self-reflection, small group discussion, and large group activities. Please visit the First-Year Violence Prevention page or the GetWIse Frequently Asked Questions page for more information and workshop descriptions.
Workshops full? Occasionally, students cancel their registration due to scheduling conflicts, so we suggest continuing to monitor this page for open spots. Additionally, five minutes before the start time of each workshop, any open spots are filled on a first-come/first-served basis, so we encourage you to try showing up for a full workshop to see if you are able to get in. Most workshops have multiple open spots due to students who register but do not end up attending.
Need to change your registration? If you can no longer attend the workshop you originally signed up for, please cancel your registration for that workshop before signing up for another one. This will allow another student to take your spot.
Looking for YouWIse workshops? Email [email protected] for more information.
Affiliated with a Fraternity or Sorority, or planning to pledge this year? Sign up for an ActWIse session for fraternity and sorority members here. Attending one ActWIse workshop counts for both Greek New Member Education requirements AND the First-Year Violence Prevention Requirement.
Before you sign up for a workshop, you should know:
- In order to fulfill the GetWIse requirement, students must attend the entirety of a workshop. Registering for a workshop only holds your spot until five minutes before the workshop start time, at which point any open spots are filled on a first-come/first-served basis. Additionally, students who arrive after the workshop doors are closed will not be able to attend, even if there are spots available, and students who need to leave early will not have their ID's scanned to document attendance.
- The completion of a 10-minute pre-workshop survey is required before you attend a GetWIse workshop. You can complete it on a smart phone, tablet, or computer. Individual responses will not be used to identify you aside from verifying completion. If you completed the pre-workshop survey previously, but did not attend or missed your scheduled workshop, please complete this survey again before attending the workshop you are scheduled to attend.
- To make sure everyone is able to attend their selected workshop, students are not allowed to sign up for a "plus one." Every student must individually sign up for their own workshop.
- You should receive a confirmation email to verify your registration (you may also receive an additional reminder email if you registered more than 2 days in advance). If you are unable to find your confirmation or reminder emails, please check your junk folder for an email from [email protected].
