Montroyal parents 2018/19
UPDATE AS OF JUNE 29: WE HAVE HEARD TODAY THAT THE SCHOOL DISTRICT GROUNDS CREW WILL HELP US OUT BY DOING MOST OF THE CLEAN-UP WORK - STAY TUNED FOR WHEN WE ARE ABLE TO GO IN AND DO ANY ADDITIONAL JOBS REQUIRED!
Hello Montroyal families,
We are fortunate to have a school with a beautiful natural setting. However, over time, weeds and invasive plant species have moved in. One of our parents, Melanie Waldhaus, has started this initiative to clean up as much as we can over the summer, so that the School District facilities department can [hopefully] do some larger jobs in the fall.
What you can do:
No gardening experience is required! Please sign up for one day or as many as you can*. Feel free to bring your children to help out, but please note that we will not have child care on site.
If you are able to be a lead for the day(s) you sign up, please check the appropriate box. A lead would just mean that you can be there for the two hour duration and that you are willing to tell people what tasks to do. We will keep a Google document with tasks completed that will be continually updated so we can see progress.
What to bring:
Please bring pruning shears and gardening gloves (multiples if you have them and are willing to share). And don't forget hats, sunscreen, gloves, water and anything else you and your family might need to stay hydrated and safe in the heat.
See you this summer!
*Once you have signed up for a slot please do not cancel within seven days of the date you are signed up for. Rather, please request with another parent to swap slots with you (the system allows for this). This will help ensure we don't have one person on their own showing up when there were meant to be a few!
