NOW ACCEPTING VIDEO AUDITIONS!
You can now submit a video audition with the audition form linked below to [email protected] by Wednesday, January 26 at 7:00pm.
By submitting a video audition, you are agreeing to the safety or other policies listed on our website and in all attached documents on the signup form. Callbacks will still be in person, and if you are called back you will need to provide proof of current vaccination at that time.
Callbacks will be held on Saturday, January 29th from 10:00am-3:00pm.
All actors cast will receive a $200 stipend. An additional stipend will be included with any extension added.
WHO: Auditions are open to actors 16+. Actors must be fully vaccinated by the time of auditions in order to partake in productions at TheaterWorks. A person is considered fully vaccinated against Covid-19 2 weeks after receiving the second dose of a two-dose series OR 2 weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine. Proof of vaccination must be shown upon arrival at auditions. The proof can be shown as the actual vaccination card, a photo of the card as a separate document, a vaccine passport (e.g. CLEAR, VaxYes), or stored on a phone or electronic device.
There are no AEA contracts available for this production.
WHAT: Each actor will be asked to prepare a contemporary comedic monologue, no more than 2 minutes in length. We encourage artists to find something truly contemporary in order to match the tone of the show, and absolutely NO SHAKESPEARE.
This production has strong language, innuendo, and raunchy jokes. If you are uncomfortable with this content, then this show is probably not for you. On the other hand, if you dig this style of comedy...then absolutely feel free to show us that with your monologue choice.
(The show is incredibly fast paced and most actors will be taking on several roles, so callbacks will be our chance to see what kind of range you have.)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: An audition form and draft rehearsal calendar are attached. Please make sure all known conflicts are listed in relation to the calendar. Please email Ashley Gennaro with any questions at [email protected]
COVID SAFETY: To create a safe environment for our patrons and our production team and cast, we have implemented comprehensive health and cleanliness protocols consistent with government recommendations. Any protocols included below will be followed throughout the entire process of this production. Please review these protocols which can be found in the attached document labeled "THEATERWORKS ACTOR AND CREW COVID GUIDELINES". Please email Ashley Gennaro with any questions at [email protected]
Theater Works proudly debuts a new series for mature audiences, After Dark. The first offering, “The Superhero Ultraferno,” a play by Don Zolidis, opens March 18, 2022 and runs into April. Tickets will go on sale in early December. “The Superhero Ultraferno” for audiences ages 16 and up features a team of nerds and a crack team of over 50 characters as they race through the hilarious world of tights-wearing crimefighters; from the 1960s TV Batman to the soap opera insanity of the Fantastic Four to a bizarre, German opera of Spiderman. With thoughts on sexism, sex and pop culture this version of the production will take place in the McMillin Theater.
This production is performed by 10 actors who portray 50+ heroes, villains, and miscellaneous characters. We will also cast 2 Swings for the production. Below are some of the many familiar names you might know and love:
