Greeters/Zip Code Collectors - Beaufort International Film Festival
If you like to meet new people then this is volunteer position for you!! Greet each person as they walk through the doors at USCB and ask for their zip code. (Some people will be coming through numerous times. It is not necessary to keep asking the same ones on your shift if you realize they have been there earlier in the day). You will be a source of information. Such as, where is the restroom, where to buy tickets, food, film schedule, etc.?? Please keep a check on the outside trash cans. If you see they need to be dumped during the hours of 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, Wed. - Friday, we can ask maintenance to do so. If after hours OR on Saturday, please take it upon yourself during a long screening to the dumpster located in the back of USCB. Ask one of the other volunteers to cover your shift to dump the trash if necessary. Collecting zip codes is a very important job as the county/city needs to have factual data to be gathered during the festival to prove that BIFF is not only an event, but a destination.
Volunteer Incentive: 1 shift = 1 single screening ticket, 2 shifts = 2 screening tickets, 3 and 4 shifts = 1 ALL DAY SCREENING PASS (CHOOSE ANY SCREENING DAY) and 5 and 6 shifts = 2 All Day Screening Passes (CHOOSE ANY SCREENING DAY). 7 and 8 shifts = 3 ALL DAY SCREENING PASSES (CHOOSE ANY SCREENING DAYS) and 9 and 10 shifts = 4 ALL DAY SCREENING PASSES. THE ALL DAY SCREENING PASSES ARE VALUED AT $50 EACH! SCREENINGS BEGIN AT 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. You need to see your volunteer chair to receive your ticket or DAY Pass(es).
Dress: Please wear a black top and black pants/skirt. Could be drafty in the doorway so dress accordingly. Rebecca Tucker is your Chair Volunteer.
