November 5th, 7th, 9th 2019
This is a primary Faith in Action activity First Congregational Church participates in. It involves serving temporarily homeless families by preparing a meal, helping with homework, or staying overnight at Park United Methodist Church in Bloomfield as they host families helped by the InterFaith Hospitality Network during the year. We are once again using the new location at 12 Park Street in Bloomfield. This location has a full kitchen-so any meal volunteers can now prepare the food right at the location if they so choose. The exact amount of families/people and any specific allergies or foods NOT to cook (I.E. nut allergies, families who don't eat pork, etc) will be provided the week before and I will send an email to update all volunteers who have offered to prepare food. Everyone is more than welcome to join the families for dinner as well. FCC members support these efforts by signing up for all of the duties for specific days. Volunteers should meet at their designated times at 12 Park Street in Bloomfield, a house owned by Park United Methodist Church. As usual, myself and Ms. Roxanne Kent from Union Cong will be on hand when volunteers arrive. I will not be available Saturday, November 9th but Ms Roxanne will be on hand if there are any problems.
