Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook
The Youth Services Study Buddies Program is a tutoring program for low-income kids 1st–8th grade designed to mentor students while assisting them with their homework. This fall session NWCF will provide meals for the aproximately 124 students and 10-15 tutors/staff*. We will be providing meals on the Wednesday nights listed in the sign up below.
For each meal there will be two people who will prepare the main meal, two people in charge of 2 sides (e.g. salad, veggies, fruit etc.) a homemade dessert and milk. All four members who signed up for that night should coordinate with each other and are in charge of serving and cleaning up. Please arrive no later than 6 PM and be ready to serve the meal by 6:20. Clean up should start at 6:40 and end by 7 PM.
Sometimes the kids drink less milk than other times and thus we have extra. Please check with Elisa each week before you bring the milk.
Youth Services will reimburse your cost of the meal. There is a tax exemption letter that you should use when you purchase food (except Costco) and a form to fill out to be submitted to Youth Services. (Elisa has emailed these with the Signup link.) Youth Services has a budget of $125 per meal; please try to keep this in mind when planning meals.
*Tutors and staff don't usually eat so count on 10 - 15 adults.
